This workshop will focus on how you can use Unreal Engine 4 to further develop your own graphics, interactive art, or to just be creative!
About the Course
This class will be divided up into 2 opportunities: A Beginner's Class on 06/04, and a more interactive workshop on 12-14/04 to either continue from the Basics Class or to take separately.
The introduction course is for beginners and provides basic knowledge to work and be creative in Unreal Engine 4.
This involves learning the key features, editors, import and export of models and textures and gaining an understanding of level design and the Blueprint system (the visual programming language of UE4). The course last for three hours and is meant to prepare the participants for the workshop.
If you know and have worked with Unreal Engine 4 before, you can start here. In the workshop we will continue to explore the program and its many features. Together we will look at some of the more advanced possibilities that exist and learn most of the ingredients one needs to create a personal product from A to Z.
Participants should be able to use Unreal Engine 4 in their own work after the course. On the way here, we will address Blueprint communication, how to set up materials (instance, parameters and shaders), work effectively with level design, lights/shadows, animation, post-production, optimization and export of the finished product.
The course leader will also tell about his process and share his experiences and tips on how he works and uses the game engine.
Unreal Engine 4 is a market-leading game developer tool for PC and MAC that, in addition to
developing games, can be used to create interactive art, presentations, architecture, film, advertising
and more. Unreal Engine 4 is open source and can be downloaded for free from GitHub or via the
portal for Epic Games Launcher.
